Emma Wynters

Emma was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. Her voice reflects these roots. Like the Delta weather itself, Emma’s sound varies from sweet and cool like fresh, spring rain or hot and steamy as a sudden summer storm. Her original songs tell universal stories. From soul to jazz, from Celtic to folk, from rock to blues – her style is as broad as all of Mississippi’s musical traditions.

Reading specialist by trade, child advocate by choice, Emma’s life experiences are the basis for her music. She has been a songwriter for more than thirty years, with training in voice, piano and guitar. She has written spirituals, country ballads, blues, jazz and celtic songs. She sings cover songs that are just as diverse and always gives them her unique interpretation. She has been a performance artist for the last three years playing weddings, restaurants, bars, benefits and concerts. She performs solo playing her acoustic guitar, as a duo accompanied by a lead guitarist, as a trio with the addition of a bass guitarist, and as a band with a keyboard player and a drummer.
