Armed with an electric violin, a ukulele and a bass guitar, Bitch (formerly of Bitch and Animal) just released her first-ever solo record Make This/Break This on the prolific independent label, Kill Rock Stars. Produced by June Millington (from the infamous all-girl band Fanny) and mixed by three-time Grammy nominee Roma Baran (Laurie Anderson, Penny Lang), Make This/Break This is a fistful of political fury and personal heartbreak. She toured with the Indigo Girls for the release, as well as headlined her own cross-country tour with her band, Bitch and The Exciting Conclusion, a project that was born in a thunderous collaboration with Daniela Sea (The L Word). The band now features Lee Free on drums, and Gabriel Kubitz on keyboard and bass and vocals.

Bitch has also been garnering international attention from her role in John Cameron Mitchell’s (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) feature film, Shortbus, where she makes her on-screen acting debut, playing herself. The film made its worldwide premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Her former band, Bitch and Animal, released three albums together. Their first album, What's that Smell?, was relased on their own label, and quickly caught the ear of Ani Difranco. Ani co-produced and relased their second album, Eternally Hard, on her own Righteous Babe Records. Robert Hilburn of the LA TImes voted it one of the top ten albums of the year in 2001. Their third album, Sour Juice and Rhyme (also on RBR), was produced by June Millington and got them nominated for album of the year by the GLAAD Media awards, along with Rufus Wainwright, Peaches, and Me'shell Ndegeocello.

Bitch has toured all over the world and has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, ID, Spin, The Advocate, Time Out New York, The Village Voice, Playboy, Girlfriends, Curve, and many other publications. Bitch is following her vision of making music that is symphonic, beat worthy, break your heart ballad-y, and raise the roof revolutionary.
