Anna Byars is the front person for her energetic trio, The Anna Byars Band. The band has been playing alt-folk around Louisiana since 2002 when Anna decided that adding drums and bass to her intense songwriting would deepen the impact of her emotive lyrics and intricately crafted melodies. Anna approaches the idea of songwriting and performance with a vigorous background in classical guitar, a profound appreciation for all the usual folk heroes, and good old fashioned swank. The band has released one EP, i am my own twin with plans to release their first full length record in the autumn of 2006.
